SMG September 2024 Update
As the summer winds down, we thought it would be timely to send out an update.
We held our Annual General Meeting on June 26th at the Chocolate Lake Community Center.
With the sale of the lands that encompass the West End Future Growth Node (WEFGN) by the Ontario Pension Board to Primaris REIT, we've turned our attention to engaging with their leadership out of Toronto. We've now had two productive meetings with their Vice President in charge of this project, Stephen Roy.

Shape Mumford Growth Society 2024 Annual Report
Shape Mumford Growth Society (SMG) is a grassroots community group registered with the Joint Registry of Stocks (April 2023). Our Primary goal is to advocate for a complete community design - a place where people can and want to live, work and play on the West End (WE) mall Future Growth Node (FGN). We are advocating for Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) to follow their own vision and objectives for FGNs as identified in the HRM Centre Plan.

Public Meetings May 2023
June 1st, 2023
On May 25th, three 2-hour sessions, put on by HRM, took place at the Halifax Forum and were attended in total by approximately 60 people. The majority of the time was spent in small group discussion led by an HRM staff person. While the Cushman Wakefield (CW) proposal continues to be front and center, the group discussions did focus on the first step in the process - the need to develop a Master Neighbourhood Plan (MNP) for the Growth Node before considering the development proposal.
